We're a group of neighborhood volunteers and park users who care deeply about keeping our parks vibrant and welcoming. Together, we dream up fun programs, fund improvements, and host special events that bring Avondale to life. We meet quarterly to share ideas, plan events, and talk through ways to make the park even better for everyone. Our meetings are always open to the community. So come by, meet your neighbors, and be part of something great right here in your backyard!

Folklorico in the Park

Ballet Folklorico de Chicago invites you to Folklórico en el Parque, a free summer series celebrating Mexican culture through dance. Enjoy live folklórico performances and join us in learning the traditional Jarabe Tapatío in a fun, welcoming environment for all ages. No experience needed! Events take place in local parks, creating a vibrant space for community connection, culture, and movement. Wear comfortable gym shoes and bring a water bottle. Join our friends from Oracle + Alchemy as they host yoga in Brands Park! ***YOU MUST REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME AND SIGN THE WAIVER TO JOIN US. Please do this in advance so as not to cause a holdup for the whole group getting started due to last-minute minutiae. Donations support the time and care your teachers give to hosting these classes, and it’s a way for us to provide them at a price that’s affordable for everyone. Thank you! Join us for outdoor yoga in the park! We’ll be meeting at Brands Park for an all-levels vinyasa yoga practice. Please bring your own mat and water bottle (and whatever else you need for your practice), and don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
